Hinton S.A. is a privately owned Argentine farm management company founded in 1992, which together with its sister company in Uruguay, is dedicated to managing farming operations in these countries. These activities include the management of Peckwater Limited, a UK company, which is building a portfolio of farms in the region.

With a positive outlook for agricultural commodity prices, the large-scale, low-cost production of commodity crops on productive farmland offers an attractive current return and the potential for significant capital appreciation. Given their fertile soils, favourable climatic conditions and large farming units, Argentina and Uruguay are already amongst the world’s lowest cost producers of all the major export crops. Farmland in these countries remains undervalued and with experienced management employing modern farming techniques, productivity can be further improved on a sustainable basis. Farming in these countries can provide the opportunity for superior investment returns.

Hinton works with investors and landowners to optimise their returns from the land, in line with their overall financial objectives and the level of farming risk that they are prepared to accept. Hinton is equipped to source, analyse and negotiate land purchases and to manage farming operations on behalf of landowners or, if preferred, to use its own capital to rent the land and assume all, or some of, the farming risk.
